A multimillion-dollar project is planned at Cook Forest State Park to replace aging shower houses and restrooms at the Ridge Campground.
The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources says construction will begin next spring and continue in phases through spring 2029. The new facilities will include family-assist and ADA-accessible restrooms, parking improvements, paved areas and accessible paths. The park and campground will remain open during construction, although some campsites will be temporarily closed.
Day-use activities, including hiking, fishing and swimming, will continue.
