A 55-year-old DuBois man is jailed on $500,000 bail following a months-long investigation into allegations that he raped a woman inside his apartment and threatened to kill her if she reported the assault.
WJAC News reports DuBois City police say Robert Powlus allegedly forced himself on the woman during a November 2025 encounter at his DuBois Avenue apartment. According to the criminal affidavit, investigators matched DNA from the woman’s sexual assault examination to Powlus.
Powlus faces felony charges including rape by forcible compulsion and sexual assault and is being held in the Clearfield County Jail.
