A Punxsutawney man is facing theft-related charges after police say he wrote a $16.57 check at a local grocery store and later placed a stop payment on it.
According to ExploreJeffersonPa.com, Punxsutawney Borough Police, charged 66-year-old Michael James Ferko with theft by deception and bad checks following an investigation. Police say the store is seeking $66.57 in restitution, including fees.
Ferko is scheduled for a preliminary hearing August 17 before Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline Mizerock.
