A pickup truck was destroyed by fire Sunday afternoon on West Hepburnia Road in Penn Township, but quick action by the driver, a passerby and firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to a nearby camper and home.
The Grampian Penn Bloom Volunteer Fire Company responded just before 1 p.m. and had the fire under control within about 15 minutes. No injuries were reported, though the truck was declared a total loss.
According to WTAJ, the driver and a passerby disconnected the camper from the burning truck before firefighters arrived, helping prevent further damage.
