Robert Odell Evans, 80, of New Bethlehem, went home to be with his Lord on May 22, 2026. Born October 2, 1945, in New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he retired from PennDOT after 33 years of service. He attended White Chapel Community Church for many years, where he was always bold in sharing his faith.
Robert shared 61 years of marriage with his wife, Rebecca Marie Evans (White). He is survived by his wife, children Robert (Susan), Nathaniel (Cindy), Matthew, and Shawna (partner Michael); six grandchildren, Brittany, Zachary, Joshua, Elijah, Lindsay, and Tiffany; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Dorothy; infant son, Lonnie; and sisters, Vergie, Betty, and Ruby.
Beyond his work, Robert found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially time spent with his family. He could often be found at local auctions, tending to his garden, or taking long walks. He was also an avid storyteller who thoroughly enjoyed long talks about deer hunting. His bold testimony and presence will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
In accordance with Robert’s wishes, there will be no visitation services. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
