A 55-year-old Mayport man is facing a misdemeanor retail theft charge after allegedly stealing a drill bit and a box of screws from an Ace Hardware store in Brookville, according to police.
Court documents state Donald Bruce Borderieux was charged May 12 after security footage from March 7 allegedly showed him concealing a Milwaukee drill bit valued at $9.99 and a box of screws valued at $10.99 before leaving the store. Police said Borderieux was identified by an officer familiar with him from a prior investigation, and the complaint noted he has a previous retail theft conviction.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 20 before Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak in Jefferson County.
