A proposed Chick-fil-A restaurant could bring another national fast-food chain to the DuBois area, with preliminary development plans now under review by city officials for the former Rite Aid property at 431 Commons Drive.
The Courier Express is reporting, City Planning, Codes and Zoning Official Zach Lawhead said the company has submitted initial plans but must complete additional development work and obtain zoning variances before the project can move forward.
No permits have been issued and no construction timeline has been established. In a statement, chick-fil-a.com confirmed it is actively pursuing a DuBois location and said it looks forward to working through the approval process with the community.
