A DuBois man is facing felony charges after Pennsylvania State Police say he crashed into a parked flatbed trailer while under the influence of methamphetamine, seriously injuring his passenger in Jefferson County.
Police said 35-year-old Kevin Allen Steele was driving a 2011 Mazda 2 on Route 219 in Washington Township on May 14, 2025, when the vehicle went off the roadway and became lodged beneath the trailer. The female passenger suffered severe injuries, including a brain bleed, broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and the loss of her right thumb. Troopers said Steele showed signs of impairment, failed field sobriety tests, and later tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
He is charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, reckless endangerment, DUI, drug paraphernalia possession, and several traffic violations.
