A Punxsutawney man is facing multiple charges after Pennsylvania State Police say he stole a vehicle and returned it to the owner’s driveway while troopers were actively investigating the theft in Bell Township.
Police allege 44-year-old Jesse Don Scott drove the vehicle back to the residence on Cloe Church Road on May 11 and was found behind the wheel despite the owner stating she had never given him permission to use the car. Authorities said Scott showed signs of impairment, refused sobriety testing, and was later taken for a court-ordered blood draw.
He was arraigned on felony theft and receiving stolen property charges, along with DUI-related offenses, and remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail after failing to post $20,000 bail.
