In District 9 baseball DuBois knocked off State College 4-1, Brookville beat Brockway 8-5, Moniteau edged DuBois Central Catholic 2-0, and West Branch slipped past Curwensville 2-1. Other winners included Port Allegany, Cameron County, Kane, Cranberry, Clearfield, Elk County Catholic, North Clarion and Karns City.
In softball, DuBois Central Catholic blanked Brookville 12-0, Curwensville edged West Branch 4-3, Cranberry rolled past Keystone 20-4, and Karns City defeated Punxsutawney 14-2. Elk County Catholic, Port Allegany, Redbank Valley, Northern Potter and Otto-Eldred also picked up victories, while Forest Area and Bradford earned crossover wins.
