Drivers traveling through Jefferson County should prepare for shifting traffic patterns on Interstate 80 westbound as work progresses on the North Fork Bridges Project.
A right lane closure near Richardsville Road went into effect yesterday to accommodate paving operations and is expected to remain in place for approximately one week. Once paving is complete, traffic will transition onto temporary pavement to allow crews to begin construction within the highway median.
This work is a key phase of a long-term bridge replacement initiative under PennDOT’s Major Bridges P3 Program. While these immediate traffic shifts are temporary, the overall project is a multi-year endeavor aimed at modernizing regional infrastructure, with a final completion date projected for 2028.
