A 50-year-old Gouldsboro man faces multiple charges after police say he smashed through a wall at Punxsutawney Area Hospital and fled into nearby woods while naked.
According to state police, the man was seen running through the hospital late April 29 before exiting the building through a damaged section of drywall. Investigators said a police dog tracked his scent to a wooded area near a local park, where he was found unclothed. Authorities allege he gave a false name to officers before his identity was confirmed. He told police he thought the wall was a door and said he “needed to go for a walk,” according to the criminal complaint.
He was arraigned and released on $5,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 7.
