A 56-year-old Emlenton man is behind bars after Pennsylvania State Police said he strangled a woman and threatened to kill her during a dispute over a damaged vehicle at a Richland Township home.
According to a criminal complaint, the incident occurred April 22 when the man allegedly pushed the victim, struck her in the face, and applied pressure to her neck, leaving visible injuries. Police said the victim later met troopers at a Cranberry Township Sheetz. The man is charged with felony strangulation, along with terroristic threats and assault-related offenses, and is being held in the Venango County Prison on $150,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 29.
