A 65-year-old Knox man was sentenced to 18 months of probation after pleading guilty to animal cruelty in connection with a starving horse seized last year in Clarion County.
According to ExploreCLarion.Com, Randon E. Miller also must pay $779.95 in restitution to Mending Hope Equine Rescue, complete 25 hours of community service and forfeit ownership of the horse, named Strawberry. According to court documents, a humane officer responding to complaints in June 2025 found two severely underweight horses without food or adequate care on a Beaver Township property. One horse was seized and later evaluated by a veterinarian, who determined it was suffering from starvation and other health issues.
Other charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
