Charges have been filed against a 25-year-old man in connection with a fatal crash last October that killed a local first responder, according to court records.
According to ExploreJefferson.Pa.Com, Damian Robert Patterson faces multiple counts, including homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI and involuntary manslaughter following the Oct. 20 crash on Grant Road. State police said Patterson lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree around 10:30 a.m., killing passenger Mason Neureiter, 20, an Elk County 911 dispatcher and volunteer firefighter. Authorities previously indicated speed may have been a factor.
The case remains active as the investigation continues.
