A 61-year-old Venango County man is facing charges following an alleged domestic assault at the Shippen Inn in Elk Township, Clarion County, according to state police.
Larry Martin Beers, of Cranberry, was arrested March 25 after troopers said he grabbed a victim by the head, slammed it into a desk and later used a hammer to pin the victim against a closet door while striking the door nearby. Police reported minor injuries and said Beers admitted to hitting the door with the hammer during the incident. He was arraigned on two counts of simple assault and a summary harassment charge, and was jailed after failing to post $25,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 7.
