A Punxsutawney woman is facing misdemeanor charges after authorities say she attempted to flee a courtroom and resisted arrest during a court proceeding.
According to ExploreJeffersonPa.Com, 35-year-old Amanda Lynn Ferko ran toward the exit after being informed by Gregory Bazylak that she was being charged with indirect criminal contempt tied to a protection from abuse case. A Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy and a borough police officer restrained Ferko in the lobby after she reportedly refused commands and resisted being handcuffed, according to a criminal complaint.
Ferko was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct and was taken to the Jefferson County Jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled March 12 before Jacqueline Mizerock.
