A Mayport couple was hospitalized after their motorcycle struck a deer in Jefferson County last week, according to State Police in Punxsutawney.
The crash occurred around 11:22 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, along Route 322 in Pine Creek Township. Police said 41-year-old Joshua M. Toy was operating a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle with passenger Trina L. Toy, 39, when the bike collided with a deer crossing the road.
The motorcycle sustained disabling damage in the crash. Both riders, who were wearing helmets, were injured and transported by Jefferson County EMS to Penn Highlands DuBois. Police did not release details on the extent of their injuries.
