Firefighters responded to a barn blaze on North Enterline Road, Perry Township, just before 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Today’s Punxsutawney Spirit has a photo by Larry McGuire who reports, despite efforts, the hay barn and equipment shop were destroyed. Perry Township Fire Chief Tim Fetterhoff called in additional support as the barn collapsed shortly after their arrival. Several fire companies worked together to contain the blaze, clearing the scene by 8 p.m.
The barn’s owner, Nina Reed, expressed gratitude to the firefighters for preventing the fire from reaching her home.
