State police in Indiana have charged a Clearfield County man following a robbery Tuesday afternoon in White Township. Troopers say 22-year-old Nicholas Joseph Holbert of Osceola Mills was charged with a felony count of robbery along with misdemeanor charges of possessing instruments of crime and theft by unlawful taking for the incident along Pompano Drive.
At 5:23 p.m., troopers were called to investigate a robbery and met with the victim, identified only as an 18-year-old man from Indiana, who said he was walking away from a group of friends when Holbert placed him in a chokehold, pressed a pistol to the left side of his abdomen, and demanded his wallet and Rolex wristwatch. Holbert returned the watch and $400 to the victim and was subsequently arrested and charged. He is awaiting preliminary arraignment.
