A Shippenville man, Michael Edgar Schmader, was arrested for allegedly assaulting and strangling his fiancée during an argument in Knox Township on June 28. Police responded to the incident, observed visible injuries on the victim, and noted her hair falling out due to the altercation.
Schmader was arraigned on June 29 and released on $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for July 9.
