Pennsylvania starts the 2024-25 fiscal year with no budget in place. Because of that, many municipalities, school districts, and others who rely on the funds do not know how much state money they will receive.
This marks the second consecutive year that the budget is not in place by the state-mandated deadline of June 30th. Both chambers are expected to return to work and according to Senator Joe Pittman the budget should be in place shortly after the July 4th holiday.
