66 year old Chris A. Sowinski, from Cheswick, Allegheny County, was charged on June 3, for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and driving under the influence in Tionesta.
According to ExoploreClarion.Com, the charges followed an April 20 traffic stop by State Police for an expired inspection sticker. During the stop, Troopers detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana and found Sowinski with bloodshot eyes. A revolver and ammunition were found in the vehicle without a valid conceal-carry permit.
Sowinski admitted to smoking marijuana 30 minutes prior. Field sobriety tests indicated impairment and a blood test confirmed the presence of multiple substances. A preliminary hearing is set for July 2, 2024.
