The Punxsutawney Borough Council received significant news from the Elk Run Volunteer Fire Company at a special meeting on Wednesday.
According to the Punxsutawney Spirit, Elk Run President Charlie Hoeh and Assistant Chief Josh McAfoos shared plans to build a new firehall, replacing the current 104-year-old building. The new facility will feature a commercial kitchen, banquet hall, and training rooms.
Construction is planned to start before winter, with completion expected by summer 2025.
