At a meeting Monday night, the Purchase Line School Board approved the 2024-25 budget.
The financial plan came to $22,106,227 in expenses and $21,146,381 in revenues, meaning the district had to fill a $959,846 funding gap. They are doing so by pulling money from their fund balance, but also increasing taxes to the state-mandated limit of 7.8%.
District superintendent Patricia Berezansky said that if they had not raised taxes, the amount needed from the fund balance would have been much higher.
