A New Bethlehem man, William F. Smead III, 26, died after a motorcycle crash in Forest County on Sunday afternoon.
The accident occurred around 3:36 p.m. on State Route 66 in Jenks Township. Police report that Smead lost control of his motorcycle due to high speed while navigating a curve, causing it to overturn and strike a concrete island. Smead and the bike were thrown into the air, with Smead landing about 28 feet from the island.
Smead was pronounced dead at the scene by the Forest County Coroner.
