A man from Emporium, Richard Bennett, now 77, has been charged with repeatedly raping a teenage girl between 1997 and 2000.
The victim, who was 13 to 15 years old at the time, reported multiple incidents of abuse. She stated Bennett told her, “God made him do this to her.”
Bennett recently sent a letter to police accepting responsibility for his actions. He has been arraigned on several felony charges and released on unsecured bail.
