On April 26, PSP DuBois received a report of a theft in Falls Creek Borough, Jefferson County.
Investigation revealed that the victim was contacted by someone claiming to be from the Pennsylvania State Police. The scammer instructed the victim to make a $500 purchase at Walmart through “Jpay.”
It’s important to note that the Pennsylvania State Police do not solicit payments over the phone. The victim, a 47-year-old man from DuBois, fell victim to the scam.
