The Steelers yesterday declined to exercise the fifth-year options on both running back Najee Harris and quarterback Justin Fields.
Harris would have cost them $6.97 million in 2025 had they exercised his option while Fields would have been due $25.644 million. Both can become free agents after the 2024 season unless the Steelers work out new deals with them. The Steelers’ other top running back, Jaylen Warren, is also entering the final year of his contract.
