The Pirates are home again after their West Coast road trip, but they’re still playing an NL West team. Joe Block previews tonight’s game.
The Pirates have not announced any roster moves ahead of the game, but they have options at Indianapolis if they want to shake it up. In a 6-4 win over Buffalo yesterday, Jake Lamb and Ji Hwan Bae each had hits. They’re both batting .388. Nick Gonzalez is batting .373 and had a hit last night. Yasmani Grandal had a hit and an RBI as he nears completion of a rehab stint.
ALTOONA CURVE
The miseries continue for the Altoona Curve, who were swept in a doubleheader by Harrisburg last night. The Curve have lost thirteen games in a row, falling 6-5 and 7-2. Braxton Ashcraft allowed all 6 Harrisburg runs in six innings in the first game. Dominic Perachi surrendered four runs in four innings in the second game.
Po-Yu Chen starts for the Curve tonight.
