State officials have awarded more than three million dollars in grants to students to advance manufacturing Innovations.
The 45 research projects are meant to spur new methods in manufacturing in areas such as autonomous machining, clean energy, medical devices, and in other fields. The approved projects are part of Manufacturing PA’s fellowship program. Universities that have partnered with a manufacturer can apply for and receive up to 70 thousand dollars for funding specific student research projects.
The fellowship program is run by the state Department of Community and Economic Development and Carnegie Mellon University.
