Punxsutawney resident Patty Merlo has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Johnstown for theft of government funds, according to U.S. Attorney Eric G. Olshan.
GantNews.Com reports the indictment alleges that from May 2016 to January 2022, Merlo unlawfully embezzled over $91,300 in Social Security Income benefit payments.
If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
