An inmate convicted of child rape at SCI Houtzdale was found dead in his cell.
According to WJAC News, prison staff discovered 40-year-old Daniel Barnett, unresponsive on Tuesday afternoon. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead just before 4:30 p.m.
An investigation into his death is underway by the Pennsylvania State Police, with the cause of death to be determined by the Clearfield County Coroner’s Office.
