The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) reported a surge in state trooper exam applicants, totaling 1,830, following Governor Shapiro’s suspension of the college credit requirement.
Notably, 41% of eligible candidates were previously excluded due to this requirement. Colonel Christopher Paris, Commissioner of PSP, expressed satisfaction at the diverse pool of applicants and encouraged their pursuit of a fulfilling career in law enforcement.
The next stage, the state trooper exam, is scheduled until February 7, 2024
