John “Herm” Suplizio, the former DuBois City Manager, was arrested yesterday after being indicted by a grand jury on charges of conspiracy and federal program fraud.
Suplizio, along with former city employee Roberta Shaffer, allegedly conspired to divert and steal hundreds of thousands of dollars in city funds. They are accused of establishing secret bank accounts using the city’s tax identification number and diverted funds into those accounts.
If convicted, Suplizio and Shaffer could face up to 45 years in prison and a fine of $1.25 million.
