A man from Big Run is being held in Jefferson County Jail on charges of raping and assaulting two children over several years.
Brett Micheal Peffer, 27, faces several felony and misdemeanor charges, including indecent assault and rape. The charges stem from allegations made by an 8-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl, who claimed that Peffer sexually assaulted them.
Peffer admitted to some of the accusations but denied others. He is currently in jail on a $75,000 bail, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 29.
