Clearfield County officials say that the FCC’s maps of cell phone and internet service coverage are inaccurate and has pushed residents to raise awareness of areas with poor or no service.
WTAJ News says, at this point, the county is gathering information to help raise awareness. The lack of reliable service in emergency situations has also been highlighted. Residents, according to the WTAJ news, also criticize that investments in 5G technology and advancements in urban areas overshadow investments in rural areas, including Clearfield County.
Verizon and AT&T have not responded to requests for comment.
