Over $442,000 in Local Share Account grants have been awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority to two projects in Jefferson County.
The Walston Recreational Area in Young Township will receive $250,000 for modernization and improved accessibility, and Bell Township will receive $192,420 for a new vehicle. Sen. Joe Pittman and Rep. Brian Smith, both Republicans, expressed satisfaction with the funding and its importance to their communities.
The funding was made available through the PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act and was approved at a March 16, 2023, meeting in Harrisburg
