A central Pennsylvania man has set an ambitious goal in his effort to encourage blood donations.
This is normally the time of year when blood donations are at their lowest level, with the need always high. A man from Gettysburg is on a quest to change that, not only in Pennsylvania, but across the nation.
The goal of Vinton Smith: Donate at least one unit of blood in all 50 states. He says it started 14 years ago when his new job required a good deal of travel, and his first donation was made in Florida. Since then he’s made it to 45 more states. That leaves just Idaho, Nevada, Alaska, and Hawaii.
