Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman Jr. says a Glen Campbell man died from crushing injuries to the chest on Saturday afternoon in a tractor rollover accident in Banks Township.
Overman says 68-year-old Leonard James Gardner was mowing a small field on his property along Fire Tower Road when his right front wheel struck a stump that was hidden by the tall grass, causing the tractor to overturn and land on top of Gardner.
Firefighters from Glen Campbell and Rossiter extricated Gardner from beneath the tractor. The accident happened at 4:55 PM. Gardener was pronounced dead by Coroner Overman at 6:13.
