
According to Indiana County 9-1-1, a vehicle fire was reported on Route 580 in Grant Township last night at 11:11.
Commodore Fire Department says there was no danger of the fire spreading from the car to any buildings. No word on the cause of that fire.

Lives were saved yesterday afternoon when a smoke alarm went off in a duplex in Punxsutawney.
According to The Punxsutawney Spirit, the Borough Police were the first on the scene followed by all three VFD’s, Elk Run, Central and Lindsey along Record Avenue. The published reports says the source of the fire was a burnt wire in the attic and with the electric being shut off the Red Cross is looking into housing for the families who live in the building.

Nine fire companies were called to the scene of a structure fire in northern Cambria County.
Indiana County 911 and WTAJ News report just before 11, Cherry Tree, Commodore and seven other VFD’s were called out to the commercial building that was engulfed in fire along the 1000 block of Philadelphia Avenue, where it spread to a couple of nearby apartment buildings. The fire marshal was called to investigate the blaze where no injuries were reported.
