The state flu count is slowing down after peaking two weeks ago.
However, Jefferson County added 52 new cases to its total last week, bringing it to 405 for the season. There was a big jump in Clearfield County, where there have been 576 flu cases this season. They added 121 new cases last week after an increase of 69 the week before.
There were 94 new cases last week in Indiana County, increasing the total to 539 laboratory-confirmed flu cases this year, with more Type B than 188 Type A.
Seven more people died from flu-related illness across the state last week, bringing the state total to 47.
