
Two locals are among the 45 people the State Inspector General charged with welfare fraud in December 2019.
Locally, the defendants are: Deborah Wittig of Clarion County for more than $16,000 in SNAP fraud, and Dianna Snyder of Brockway in Jefferson County for more than $9,000 in Medical Assistance fraud.
If convicted, the maximum penalty is seven years in prison and a fine of $15,000.00, plus a mandatory disqualification period from the benefits program they allegedly defrauded.
