The focus and purpose of “Second Chance Above Ground” is to provide social, emotional and basic support for people who are going through, or have been through addiction.
It differs from Alcoholics Anonymous by accepting people who have various addictions into the group to provide support. There is no fee to join or to be a member, it is completely socially based. The other group, “Riding For Foster Care,” is a support group for children who have been through or are currently in the foster care system.
The purpose is to provide a social outlet for peers to find comfort and support from each other by doing healthy activities e.g., riding bicycles and talking about experiences.
