A couple counties saw the unemployment rate increase in October.
The State Department of Labor and Industry says Jefferson County has the lowest unemployment rate in the region at 4.9 percent. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for Clearfield and Indiana Counties went up in October to 5.5 percent. That ties two other counties at 48th among the state’s 67 counties.
The statewide unemployment rate is 4.2 percent and the national rate stands at 3.6 percent, which is an increase of one-tenth of a percentage point in October.
