On Tuesday the Brookville Borough Council approved its balanced 2020 budget, with the only tax increase in the fire fund budget at 0.3 mills.
According to The Punxsutawney Spirit, a resident expressed support for Brookville Volunteer Fire Department’s siren by saying it alerts the community of emergencies, including weather-related, and they should not move or turn it off. The published report says a council member and Mayor Beck support the idea of keeping the siren as is, for its purpose.
