A woman from Punxsutawney was arrested for allegedly stealing over $47,000 from the Borough of Worthville.
The Pennsylvania State Police Punxsutawney, in collaboration with Jefferson County District Attorney Jeff Burket’s office, announced they have arrested 37 year old Kerran Dale Snyder, who was employed by the Worthville Borough as the Secretary / Treasurer and was entrusted to manage the Worthville finances.
According to the news release, during a recorded interview she admitted stealing $47,331.90 from January of 2015 through January of this year by using the Worthville checking account to pay her personal bills and to right out checks to herself for cash.
Snyder has been charged through the District Court with theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received, theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception and receiving stolen property.
