A suspect was taken into custody this morning (Wednesday), ending a police situation in Clarion County that lasted for nearly twelve hours.

Here’s what we know: Sources say a known male suspect was taken into custody around 8:00 a.m. near a boat launch along the Clarion River in the area of U.S. Route 322. Authorities have yet to mention why they were searching for the man, but they do say the man was not considered a danger to the public.
The Web site says the incident began last night (Tuesday) around 9:00 p.m. as police units rolled to the area the Clarion River Bridge to search for the known male. At least one state police helicopter was dispatched to aid in the search.
A portion of U.S. Route 322 between Clarion and Shippenville was closed for several hours during the search. It reopened this morning (Wednesday) just before 9 a.m.
Clarion Pennsylvania State Police say they will issue a press release as soon as additional information is available.
