When classes resume next week at the State System of Higher Education universities, there will not be a new contract in place for the faculty.
Negotiations on a new agreement resume today at the APSCUF faculty offices after the latest round of talks ended on August 8th. The “interest-based bargaining” is making progress, according to the both sides, which have equaled joint statements after each two-day session.
The most recent contract expired June 30th, and the faculty members will be working under its terms next week when the fall semester begins.
The negotiating teams will meet today and tomorrow, and then again September 14th through the 18th. APSCUF and the State System are also negotiating a separate contract for coaches at the state-owned schools.
