State police have announced a co-operative effort with PennDOT will go into effect today on roads in Indiana County…
Troopers have partnered with PennDOT for another round of “Operation Yellow Jacket”, which will be conducted on Indiana County’s Highways today. This is where troopers conduct speed enforcement patrols from the vantage point of PennDOT safety vehicles. If a trooper does witness someone speeding or violating the state’s “Steer Clear” law, they will radio what they saw to other patrols in the area.
Police are reminding everyone that violating the steer clear law will be fined up to $250 for the first violation. Today’s efforts is to help the agencies involved work together and keep work zones and emergency areas safe for both motorists and construction workers alike.
